Cape Town, is home to a variety of transport modes, rail, buses, and minibus taxis—and many commuters use several of these modes each day. Cape Town’s rail network is 610 km of rail line, 169 km’s of which is passenger rail operated by Metrorail. There are over 7,500 licensed taxis in the city, accounting for 15% of all trips taken in the city, more than any other public transport mode besides walking.
